Very clean establishment with polite staff. The meals were full of flavor making them and the experience unforgettable. I enjoy spending time and money at a one of a kind place like this. You leave feeling satisfied with the amount of nutrients in one meal. I am excited to travel back here and try different items on the menu. The buckwheat crepe is one of a kind and worth every penny. We left with quality coffee, feeling full of energy.
Delicious food, recommend the duck with waffles. Only wish there were more long tables instead of just one in the RSVP section since we came with a larger group and had to break up into two tables. Kudos to the chef.
I had a chance to visit La Maison Navarre in Portsmouth and it did not disappoint! They have excellent coffee, we enjoyed a large cappuccino and an iced black coffee with pumpkin syrup. We didn't have any crepes, my focus was on the pastries.
We got the chocolate and coffee opera cake and a white chocolate mousse tart. Our favorite was the tart, it was sweet but didn't get too sweet. Would have been perfect with more raspberries. The opera cake felt a bit dry for something with many layers of filling, but was tasty.
I will be coming back to try the savory crepes and other pastries.
Such a cute wine bar and pastry shop. Would love to come back for the wine. We stopped in for the macarons though. They do have a really nice variety of them and we totally recommend trying the toffee one we could definitely tell they weren’t fresh. The shells were definitely not crisp on the outside like how they are supposed to be ya know ? Service was great and the actual restaurant is really cute. They have a bunch of treats and snacks that you can purchase that I haven’t seen in the USA only in France so I thought that was pretty cool.
Every time I go, whether it's to sit down and enjoy some food or running in to grab a pastry or 7... I always have a great experience. The staff is wonderful, inviting, and engaging. They can help you make a decision and answer your questions as you need, and always with a genuine smile. The food is amazing and since I'm not familiar, I would assume very authentic. But the price does reflect the quality so expect to be paying a little more than Dunks, you'll enjoy your experience significantly more. If you're in Portsmouth, or in the market for some high end pastries, this is always my go to recommendation!
We ordered a couple of cold sandwiches for a picnic lunch, the tuna and veggie. Both were excellent mostly because of the freshly baked baguettes, crispy crust and soft inside. The tarragon in the tuna was perfect. Can’t beat a great French sandwich and this place did not disappoint!
We had a croissant (as crispy as a croissant can get) with prosciutto, Swiss cheese, scrambled eggs and red peppers for $8. Everything is on point.
The only non-perfect thing is probably that the London fog is a bit too sweet.
My daughter loves their cappuccinos so of course we had to try the place during our visit. They make delicious lattes. I had it twice and it was perfect both times. All the pastries we tried were amazing. I also tried cinnamon crepe. I can definitely recommend it. Everyone is always friendly and they also do sit down brunch on weekends.
